Zebra Sarasa Gel Pens With The Aroma Of Lipton Tea

Zebra Pen company has chosen a…unique…way of celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Zebra Sarasa gel pen.

The company has teamed up with Lipton tea and released a limited edition set of iced tea-scented Zebra Sarasas. The 10 pens of the set each smell like a different flavor of Lipton available in the Japanese market, including apple tea, caramel tea and milk tea.

Each scent has its own color ink, ranging from red for the apple tea to light blue for the vanilla tea. The barrels bear the Lipton Tea logo and match the ink color. Other than that, they seem to be regular 0.5mm Sarasa gel pens.

Seems a bit of an odd combination, but hey, any scented pen is fun – and who wouldn’t want a green-ink Sarasa that smells like muscat tea?

Unfortunately, availability of these pens seems to be extremely limited, and it isn’t likely they will sold in the EU or the US. However, the Lipton tea-scented pens are slowly trickling into the market.

Specialty Japanese products retailer JBox has at least four of the Lipton scents available for US$2.50 each, and the Lipton Tea Zebra Sarasa pens have started showing up on eBay, as well.

While the Sarasa iced tea-scented pens look great and probably smell great, too, the one thing that niggles at the mind a bit is that you would essentially be paying for a pen that advertises a product. In other words, the kind of pens most companies give away. Worth it?

If anyone has managed to get their hands on some of the Zebra Sara Lipton iced tea pens yet, let us know.

  1. I have both unused (Since 2013)! 😀 I don’t know how rare they are but I really do want to know the price of them if I want to resale. I remember I had them when I was buying from jetpens recently, and there they were hanging on the side of my desk for seven years lol;

  2. I got these from the website http://www.jetpens.com. They were $2.50 individually but you could buy the 5-pack (2 varieties) for $12.50. I also got the Sweets Party set in 2012 which was the previous scented pen set with Zebra Sarasa. Love the pens!

  3. I’m still trying to get these pens in my hands! Whilst I was in Japan I stumbled across a limited edition set (not the lipton iced tea set) and unfortunately didn’t realize its rarity and therefore, didn’t purchase the set. I am so upset that I didn’t realize sooner. One fault about Japanese items is that “limited edition” is so commonly used as a marketing tactic. This means that the chance of purchasing the item overseas is practically impossible.
